Weeks 1–3: Place Value & Number Sense

  • Place value to 1,000 (expanded, standard, word form)
  • Compare & order numbers
  • Skip-counting (2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 10s, 100s)

 

Weeks 19–21: Geometry Foundations

  • Identify/classify 2-D & 3-D shapes
  • Partition into halves, thirds, fourths
  • Symmetry & transformations

Weeks 4–6: Addition & Subtraction to 1,000

  • Fluency within 20
  • Addition/subtraction with regrouping (2- & 3-digit numbers)
  • Multi-step word problems

 

Weeks 22–24: Fractions as Numbers

  • Fractions on number lines & shapes
  • Compare simple fractions (½ vs ¼, etc.)
  • Equivalent fractions (½ = 2/4, 3/6)

Weeks 7–9: Advanced Addition & Subtraction

  • Mental math strategies (compensation, number bonds)
  • Missing digits in problems
  • Challenge: multi-step problems with unknowns

 

Weeks 25–27: Measurement & Data

  • Length (cm/inches), time to 5 minutes
  • Bar graphs, picture graphs, line plots
  • Word problems with measurement

Weeks 10–12: Multiplication Foundations

  • Equal groups, repeated addition, arrays
  • Multiplication facts: 2s, 5s, 10s (intro 3s, 4s)

 

Weeks 28–30: Multiplication & Division Deep Dive

  • Strengthen facts up to 12×12 (as enrichment)
  • Apply arrays & area models
  • Multi-step word problems with unknowns

Weeks 13–15: Division Foundations

  • Division as sharing/grouping
  • Relating multiplication & division
  • Simple remainder concepts (conceptual only)

 

Weeks 31–33: Problem Solving & Mixed Operations

  • Multi-step, real-world problems (money, time, measurement)
  • Open-ended investigations (multiple strategies)

Weeks 16–17: Mixed Problem Solving

  • Multi-step word problems with all operations
  • Logic-based puzzles & early algebraic reasoning

Weeks 34–35: Review & Projects

  • Spiral review of all major topics
  • Student projects (create a math puzzle, fraction art, data survey)

Week 18: ✏️ Mid-Year Exam
 Covers:

  • Place value & number sense to 1,000
  • Addition/subtraction (2- & 3-digit regrouping, word problems)
  • Intro multiplication/division (facts, arrays, simple division)
  • Problem-solving with bar models

Week 36: ✏️ End-of-Year Exam
 Covers:

  • Place value to 1,000+
  • Addition/subtraction fluency with regrouping
  • Multiplication & division facts, arrays, word problems
  • Fractions (partitioning, number lines, equivalence)
  • Measurement, data, geometry basics
  • Problem-solving (multi-step, logic puzzles, bar models)
