Course Overview

This is a lively and engaging course designed for young learners aged 9-11 to deepen their math skills and tackle more complex problems. Students will master multi-digit multiplication and long division, explore equivalent fractions and decimals, and apply concepts to area, perimeter, and angles. Engaging lessons build problem-solving confidence and prepare kids for advanced math.

Weeks 1–3
  • Place Value & Rounding – Whole numbers to 1,000,000; rounding to nearest 10,000.
  • Multi-Digit Multiplication Basics – 1-digit × 3-/4-digit numbers.
  • Division Basics Review – 2-digit ÷ 1-digit with remainders.
Weeks 4–6
  • Multi-Digit Multiplication – 2-digit × 2-digit (area model & algorithm).
  • Division with Larger Numbers – 3-digit ÷ 1-digit; interpreting remainders.
  • Factors & Multiples – Prime/composite numbers, factor pairs.
Weeks 7–9
  • Multi-Step Word Problems – All four operations.
  • Patterns & Rules – Function tables, growing/shrinking rules.
  • Intro to Fractions – Equivalent fractions, simplifying.
Weeks 10–12
  • Comparing Fractions – Benchmarks & common denominators.
  • Add/Subtract Fractions – Like denominators.
  • Decimals: Tenths & Hundredths – Place value; fractions ↔ decimals.
Weeks 13–15
  • Add/Subtract Fractions (Unlike Denominators) – LCM strategies.
  • Decimals on Number Line – Tenths, hundredths, money.
  • Rounding Decimals – To tenths & hundredths.
Weeks 16–18
  • Add/Subtract Decimals – Word problems with money & measurement.
  • Multi-Step Word Problems – Fractions & decimals combined.
  • Mid-Year Exam – Covers Units 1–3 (Operations, Fractions, Decimals).
Weeks 19–21
  • Measurement Conversions – Metric & customary (length, mass, volume).
  • Line Plots with Fractions – Create plots with ¼, ½, ⅛ units.
  • Angles – Measure with protractor; classify acute, obtuse, right.
Weeks 22–24
  • Perimeter & Area – Rectangles & composite figures.
  • Area of Triangles & Parallelograms – Connect to rectangle formulas.
  • Symmetry & Reflection – Identify and draw lines of symmetry.
Weeks 25–27
  • Fractions: Equivalent & Simplifying – Deep review + applications.
  • Add/Subtract Fractions – Unlike denominators, visual & algorithm.
  • Mixed Numbers – Convert improper ↔ mixed.
Weeks 28–30
  • Multiply Fractions × Whole Numbers – Visual models & word problems.
  • Multiply Fractions × Fractions – Area models.
  • Divide Fractions ÷ Whole Numbers – Conceptual problems.
Weeks 31–33
  • Geometry: Classifying Shapes – Quadrilaterals, triangles by sides/angles.
  • Geometry: Lines & Angles – Parallel, perpendicular, intersecting.
  • Coordinate Plane Basics – Plot points in 1st quadrant.
Weeks 34–36
  • Multi-Step Word Problems (Fractions & Geometry) – Mixed review.
  • Review & Test Prep – Timed drills, competition-style puzzles.
  • End-of-Year Exam – Comprehensive with enrichment problems.
